Charlotte, NC

Construction of a centralized administrative facility designed to support citywide fire department operations.

DETAILS

The project includes the development of a state-of-the-art headquarters facility located on a five-acre site with views of the uptown skyline. The building consolidates key operational functions, including fire administration, emergency management, IT, and fire prevention, into a single, unified facility to support efficient coordination and long-term growth.

Designed to reflect civic identity and durability, the facility features a robust brick exterior recognized with the Brick Industry Association’s Architecture Silver Award. Interior spaces include a public-facing lobby with high-end finishes such as terrazzo flooring and birch ceiling elements, as well as a dedicated display of historic fire apparatus that reinforces the department’s connection to the community.

The building is designed for flexibility and resilience, incorporating natural daylighting, high-efficiency systems, and the ability to operate independently during emergency events. The layout supports current operational needs while accommodating future expansion, including planned integration of a 911 call center.
