The facility was designed to support time-sensitive medical operations by integrating clinical, laboratory, and administrative spaces into a highly coordinated environment. The layout prioritizes efficient workflow, secure handling procedures, and operational reliability, ensuring the facility can meet the critical demands associated with organ and tissue coordination and distribution.

LifeShare of the Carolinas is the only CMS-designated Tier 1 Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) in North Carolina. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) assigns performance tiers to OPOs nationwide, with Tier 1 status representing organizations in the top 25% for donation and transplantation rates. This designation reinforces the importance of a facility designed to support high-performance clinical operations and community impact.
